Your interest in or involvement with technology and social change?
I am confident that technology will continue to provide solutions to the world’s problems, but it is imperative we make socially conscious decisions and direct progress toward positive impact.
What do you do in life as we know it?
I'm a founding member and Vice President of Marketing for San Diego-based nonprofit Africa Aid. I will be attending Carnegie-Mellon University in August 2007 to pursue a Master of Human-Computer Interaction degree.
Provide sustainable empowerment initiatives to impoverished communities following a process that involves:
identifying the problems of impoverished communities by conducting comprehensive community assessments;
collecting numerical, statistical, and visual data from the communities;
connecting the impoverished communities with the American university system by presenting the data to students and faculty, allowing them to create solutions to poverty issues in the classroom;
implementing university-designed solutions in the impoverished communities, while involving local organizations and community leaders as partners throughout the implementation process;
and
sustaining progress by utilizing universities for consistent foreign program analysis and evaluation, eventually leading to self-sustainability and self-sufficiency.
If today was your last day on earth, how would you live it?
I would call all of my friends and family to tell them how much I love them, then get together with my best friends and party like there's no tomorrow.
